Fishing from Bournemouth Pier

fishing/>Bournemouth Pier first appeared (by means of a wooden jetty in the 1850′s) and has in it’s various guises remained a popular tourist attraction ever since – with it’s variety of amusement arcades, theatre and cafe’s it’s symbolic of the postcard sea-side trade – and on a warm August day – visitors may find obtaining a deck chair difficult as the “grockles” take over.

However, Bournemouth Pier has an another attraction in that it’s a great fishing spot! – With Bass, Sole, Rays, Bream, Smoothies all common at various times of the year – hardly a day goes by wtihout a rod and line perched expectantly over the side of the pier’s railings. In fact during the warmer days of summer it can become really busy, with the fishermen’s buckets acting as a magnet to children and adults alike to see what the “catch of the day” has been.

A word of warning though, Bournemouth’s pier is increasingly becoming a magnet for the towns surfers and anyone interested in trying fishing from the pier should go carefull so as not to catch an unsuspecting surfer!

Share and Enjoy: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.

<img src=
